Inchcape will cease distributing LDV vehicles in New Zealand, with the company confirming it will end its partnership with the Chinese-owned brand following a transition period.
The final date for the handover has yet to be confirmed.
In a statement, Inchcape said the move followed a review of its brand portfolio as part of its ongoing business strategy.
“As part of Inchcape’s standard approach to portfolio management, we continuously review our partnerships to ensure we have the right portfolio of brands for our business aligned with our strategic growth objectives,” the company said.
Inchcape said it is working with LDV to ensure a smooth transition, with the vehicle manufacturer expected to announce its future distribution arrangements in due course.
The company said support for customers and dealers would continue throughout the transition.
“During the transition period, service support remains unchanged and customers are encouraged to contact their local LDV dealership for stock availability, with current customer orders delivered as planned,” Inchcape said.
The company also reaffirmed its commitment to the Australian and New Zealand markets, saying it remained focused on its existing portfolio of vehicle brands.
