Kia Motors announces Seltos as the name of its global compact SUV, due to launch this summer.
The name comes from Greek mythology and the legend of Celtos, the son of Hercules, a brave and assertive spirit. The adapted spelling with the ‘S’ implies speed and sportiness, and brings the name in line with Kia’s Sportage and Sorento SUVs.
The Seltos is aimed at youthful, millennial buyers, with its sporty design and the space and capabilities of a traditional SUV. The cabin is characterised by broad shapes and technical details.
The new model showcases Kia Motors’ design, quality and technology, extending its range of SUVs to suit the needs of customers in every market.
The Kia Seltos will be revealed later in June, with sales in Korea and other regions to follow in the second half of 2019.
